  • Splash decanted and returned to bottle 1 hour prior to service. deep ruby/purple, very fine light sediment, otherwise clear. Served flightly chilled. This drank very well. Ideal window, integration, balance. Med to full body, very long clean finish. Super good Pinot, nothing off. $68 winery direct.

  • No notes taken. My first WS (almost impossible to get in Europe). More old world than the average Californian Pinot Noir, this showed very well with fine red and dark berries, not too ripe, earthy minerality, some underbrush and a good structural frame. For a higher rating it would have needed a higher complexity and a touch higher purity. But I can see why people rave about this producer

  • Rich dark berry and black current flavors up front with a well rounded mouthfeel that continued throughout. Soft tannin structure with ample acidity to stand up to lamb marinated in a lemon/mustard sauce. Drink now as this Pinot is at its prime.

  • If you are looking for a big Cali steak pinot, this ain't it! It's excellent for what it is...a more austere and complex expression of pinot that drives freshness of the fruit, acidity, tannin and some minerality. Red fruit is carried all the way from entry to the long finish with a brisk mouth feel. Would pair well with lighter cheeses or lighter sauce protein dishes. Excellent.

  • Insanely good with juicy ripe blackberry, black currant notes, fresh pur juicy berries with a hint of licorice, hint of spice; silky smooth, plush but not too rich, seamless long finish. Not extremely complex, but so delish on it's own. Another 2 years did this wine right since the last time I had it. Still young, but now integrated and a bit more balanced. So good finished the bottle before the sushi even arrived. Which was probably a good thing. With sushi and Laker's playoff game.
