Decanted 90 minutes before service - a blast of plums, currants, and blueberries from the bottle. In the glass, deep saturated violet-red. On the palate, smooth and fruit-driven, with secondary notes of sandalwood and iodine keeping things interesting, and moderate tannic structure on a long finish. Ready now, but I do wonder if another 2-3 years in the cellar might yield further modest improvement.

Dark color, dark fruit...but not fruity by any means. This wine has some quiet intensity about it. Definitely can taste the oak, and some nice "non fruit" flavors. Time has mellowed this one down very nicely. It's time to drink up. Soon.

Drank over two days. Nose of licorice and maple syrup on a bed of garrigue. On the palate licorice, blackberry, maple candy, gritty tannins. Cocktail finish of sweet bitters. One of the more rustic cuvees from Sanguis but right up my alley.

Saddened. Our last bottle. This is drinking beautifully with a one-hour decant. Some iodine and Rhone funk in the bouquet that transitions to elegance and lightness on the palate with raspberries and cherries joined by bay leaves, cinnamon, French thyme and clove. Great balance. Medium- to full-bodied, with enough stuffins to go another decade. But drink now, if you like a more fruit-driven offering. Excellent purity. Drink now to 2028. (= Outstanding)

Pop and pour. Last of four bottles and showing beautifully. This is a savory, deep Syrah that's fully mature and time to drink up.
