1 hr bottle decant, strong black currant, black & raspberry, subtle background with floral, perfume, a bit orange edges, strength with med to full body (probably high content clay in soil), powerful and long lasting (+10s), elegance and perfectly balanced with acidity. No doubt it's peak now.
One of my best aussie wine (95 pts)

Big, dark nose of licorice and dried fruit. Touch of herbs on the cusp of wilting.
Acidic and heavy, this wine has a grave complexion that opens with a touch of red fruit but descends quickly to a thick licorice and pepper profile. I get some oak notes but mostly loads of boysenberry and blackberry. Finish if laden with alcohol but in a pleasant fashion.
This is a big wine, especially for the price, and I get the feeling that fans of extracted Napa wines might be well served with this wine. Although, it paired nicely with the smoked meat we had for dinner which had a dry rub based predominantly on black pepper.
Delicious and rich!

One bottle from 12 was a bit corked: the sweetness had turned a little bit rancio, but not too horribly so. The rest were glamorous, rich affairs with tonnes of deep classic Oz Shiraz on them, eucalypt, rich raspberry compote and treacle. Quite elegant though high in alcohol. Excellent wine. Bottles varied 92-95+ I guess.
