Decanted 2 hours prior to taking to the WGDMs for dinner....
Dark purple in the glass. Sweet cassis and a touch of graphite on the nose. Palate with great weight and blackberry fruit.
A bit peculiar, this one is.....seemed way too jammy and over the top when put into the decanter but when putting it back into the bottle to transport 2 hours later, it seemed very toned down, almost austere. Poured a glass before dinner and the nose is jammy, but the palate much less so with dry blackberry fruit. Carol loved it and pretty much finished most of the bottle herself....feeling no pain on the ride home. Def different than my last bottle one year ago but yet scored the same by me looking back just now. Very high quality here.
Light nose - deep rich velvety red in color. I was surprised the nose is so restrained.
Light medium rounded body with oak and tannins but acidity to last in the finish.
Long finish with furry tannins. This can last for a few years. I am not sure if it will more rounded as the acidity seems to be more powerful than the body. I hope that is not true and will revisit this wine in 2025 and see how it evolves. The finish is reminiscent of an older light Bond (Vecina 2009?)
Dark fruits and mid to end palate is enticing. 95-

Post writing the initial note, I have now read my last note (2020) and interesting to see the progression. It seems to have mellowed (with respect to the acidity in the back end and the red fruits have become darker - otherwise consistent.
Decanted for one hour. Nose of ripe black raspberry, currant, black cherry, vanilla cream liquor, baker’s chocolate and spice. Ripe black raspberry, black cherry, mocha, spice and juicy tannins on the palate. Dense with a very, very long finish. Full bodied. A monster cab. Served with grilled strip steak and Diane sauce.

2 hour slo-ox, then a quick decant: drank over 2 days. Dark cherry, earthy, tobacco, cedar with blackberry and mild tannins. Bright, mouth watering acidity; sumptuous Cab in a great spot right now.
