I think this is a Merlot disguised as a Zinfandel. It's good but if you are looking for that jammy, black fruit-forward Zin, this isn't it. Predominant notes of plum and tobacco on the nose and plum, chocolatey taste on the palate.

Big, jammy nose with a touch of sweet berry. The flavors are alcohol rich with plum, black cherry, BlackBerry and bramble. I find the finish to be velvet and rich, alcohol and sweet.
Perhaps some vanilla chai with oak. Major sweet berry and big alcohol.

Tasted at WL, disjointed, hollow taste until Syrah finish, high alcohol which is noticeable, not my style of wine, would not buy a bottle.
