We had a great bottle of Vacqueyras so I decided to take this for a spin hoping for similar results. Well, that didn't happen. Very liqueur-like notes for fruit and some typical garrigue but it was all esters and muted. It never really moved in an interesting way so into the fridge it went. A couple of weeks later when I went to throw it out I had a more interesting taste. I have no idea what to make of that. I probably won't buy this again but I'd be interested to try one with a little age.

I won’t give a rating for this because we consumed it under less-than-ideal conditions: the wine was popped & poured and served in small, bistro glasses. That said, given the price and the Santa Duc reputation we were expecting more. It had muted aromatics and lacked flavor complexity. The wine is obviously well-made and was very smooth and balanced, and is a bit hot but not overly so. Certainly it needs a good decant and good glasses to show its stuff, and I look forward to having it again under better conditions.

Just a hint of barnyard/reduction; but in a nice earthy way. Spices, a lot of dried red fruit aromas with hints of fresher black fruit. Opening to some parfum and prettier high tone notes. Smooth, quite fruity entry. Most fruit flavors again dried accentuated by drying and slightly sharp tannins in the finish, with lingering mouthwatering fruit flavors. Very nice wine; will be better with age or decanting.

Viol, lakrits doft.
Smak: härlig mogenhet, metall, rökig, viol.
Fantastiskt gott.
Utmärkt till köttfärssås med spagetti.

top gigondas, give it a bit air and time and the richness fills the mouth. Enjoyed with jamon and cheese at night .
