All berries on the nose. Deep color that was more Syrah than pinot. Palate was surprisingly ripe – a big wine that held together well. All California. (92)

deep ruby/purple-colored. black cherry, cola, and smoky aromas, a nicely textured, medium-bodied mouthfeel, and a rich, long, tannic finish. Tobacco and 2ndary Aromas. Drink Now, dont age further.

Not worth drinking the night opened. Corked and figured we'd see how it was the next night instead of dumping it. Significant improvement. Funk blew off the nose, fruit opened a bit. A tad licorice for me, but drinkable and interesting.

Big and rich still, but not enough complexity to be getting any better - drink it now. Luscious fruit, but not over the top. Some Anderson Valley characteristics - that unique combination of California fruit with musky mushroom - but more on the big, pleasing side than anything multidimensional. I kept going back to it over a tasting with several "better" wines, just because it so wanted to be loved.

At peak. Blood red. Sweet nose -- roses, raspberries and pineapple and oranges. Rich and velvety mouthfeel. Sweet currants, cherries and plums. A thread of earth and grilled toast, but primarily sweet fruits and flowers.
