Very slightly rusty garnet. Our first cornalin, nose of blackberry, wet cement, a little pine. The palate is crisp, tart, black stone and berry fruit, a touch of cabernet franc greenness, and that cement again. The finish is medium-long and in keeping. Overall somewhere on the mondeuse/cabernet franc/blaufrankish spectrum, with plenty of mountain freshness. A little gentler, and perhaps more appealing, day two.

Tonight with pizza and subs, seemed a bit softer fruitier, a little less distinctive but more friendly.
