Echoing the note prior to mine- this is Burgundy. Another gem bottle of Merme Bel-Air. Great dirt there, Bel-Air. Sous bois, autumnal nose. Just beginning to get tertiary. Sappy red fruit that is balanced and bright and just makes ya smile. Juicy 15. Still a good bit in reserve. Very good wine with years to go. In today's Burgundy dollars, this is a great buy. lol

Wonderful stuff! Everything I look for in a great burgundy. An aroma of earthiness (hay bails) and floral notes, fine-grained tanins and a wonderful array of fruit flavors influenced by the unique soil of Bel-Aire that combine to produce pure pleasure. Wonderfully balanced and just a pleasure to drink. Viva Gevrey-Chambertin!

Friendsgiving Dinner (Schur House - Riverwoods IL): Walkaround tasting. Very good potential, but just still so backward.

Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Tasting, brief note. Brawny black cherry with roasted meat notes. Slightly backward throughout, but with a long minerally and expanding finish. Certainly 90+ potential, 2025 forward.

Red fruited, bright, pure; grippy tannins, very long finish. Excellent. 92-93+
