  • Not sure if this was an issue with the wine or the handling at some point, but this was the second oxidized bottle after one sound bottle.

  • Solid pinot gris, though PG is not typically amongst my preferred varietals. This one is good though. The main problems with PG tend to be that it can be somewhat flavorless and too round, lacking sufficient acidity. This one has a good deal of flavor, mostly in the white peach register which is consistent with what I'd expect. It has some good mineral component too. As for acidity, this is a bit more round than I typically like a white wine, but that should be taken with a grain of salt, because I typically like my whites with so much acid they practically cut my mouth. This was enjoyable and I didn't find it tiring, so the acidity was sufficient, if just on the low side for my own tastes. Overall I thought this was quite good. Picked up four bottles locally on a closeout at $9, I may or may not go back for a few more. I suspect these will be good for knocking back on the porch this spring or poolside this summer.
