  • Quick note: opened this for Xmas, did not disappoint! Kaleidoscope of unpretentious Cab flavors, this particular bottle seemed like it just entered the perfect zone of drinkability. Should add a bottle of "regular" 2014 Lewelling Cab from a few weeks was perfectly fine and quite tasty in it's own right; that said, the 2014 Wight shows an extra degree of flavor.

  • Drank alongside the regular 2014. Interesting comparison, which showed the Wight is the better wine - color, nose, fruit, depth. But, this wine. A bit thin upon opening, but gained depth with a couple hours of air. Lovely wine, if on the lighter side. Silky, if not velvety. Great color, good fruit, and a long finish. Just a lovely wine.

  • Opened, poured and let sit about 45 min. Then: Minimal darkish-reddish fruit on the nose. Taste starts out pretty much the same and continues that way through the glass (about 45 min after first sip). Fairly mellow mouthfeel; tannins not in evidence; acidity OK; pretty much in balance until the finish kicks in; then it turns a bit acidic; not too ripe; not over-extracted There just not much there to taste; maybe some fruit in the background; maybe something sort of chocolate-ish; but not much else to distinguish it; no cabernet profile. More of a "modern" style Cali cab, but now without the fruit to carry it. In the end, a relatively pleasant non-varietal-tasting red wine.

  • PNP at a resturant in PS. Min. sed. Nice classic Napa cabe bouquet. Beautiful Napa cab in a good place. Plenty of punch here and I would like to revisit in a few years. Classic flavors of dark red fruits, chocolate and good structure. Good with our hearty dishes almost overpowering with our lighter apps. Plenty left in the cellar. hold or drink now with a short decant.

  • I brought this to a Syrah vs. Cabernet tasting at a NY Steakhouse. It was opened but not decanted for over 45 minutes before serving. This might have been the group favorite. Long finish. I always seem to feel that Lewelling Wight punches above its weight.
