  • Texas Wine School Italian Wine Scholar Class. This is a delicious blend of Trebbiano and Malvasia, which is Amontillado Sherry-like in its complexity and elegance. Medium gold in color, with an intense nose of bitter orange zest, apricot, caramel, hazelnut, toast, honey and Christmas spices. The palate is medium sweet, nicely offset by medium (+) acidity, with a slight bitterness on the finish. The alcohol is high at 15% but nicely integrated. This is a really clean, fresh, spicy Vin Santo which is just now entering its drinking window and could easily age another decade. Tasted twice with consistent results.
