  • What a treat! Butterscotch, caramel, rich but not too sweet. Very smooth finish.

  • Texas BBQ and La Las Dinner at Marc's House (Marc's House): Whoa. One of Manfred’s best dessert wines that I've tasted—and I absolutely love Mr. K stickies. But this was far more elegant, graceful, balanced, nuanced, and lighter on its feet than the Mr. K’s. It wasn’t as sticky and heavy as those either. Tasted of honey and honeysuckle and apricot and mango and all the good stuff, but as if that has all simmered in Earl Grey tea or something to lighten and freshen it up. Just excellent.

  • Opened by Allred. First time I have had this dessert wine. I tried this over a 2 day period. 100% Petit Manseng grapes which are placed on straw mats to partially dehydrate and produce a naturally concentrated dessert wine. Reddish orange color. Very fruity and sweet but balanced by very good acidity. Notes of quince, pear, mango and papaya. Still rather youthful tasting in my opinion. Excellent. 97 points.

  • Annual Friendsgiving Gathering (M/M thelostverse): Our first of three, poured with dessert. Light amber color. Notes of fresh flowers and pear nectar. I am accustomed to rich, almost viscous dessert wines from Manfred, and this is not in that vein. This is light, almost racy, with flavors of orange, pear liqueur and spice. Excellent, but I preferred the Kracher tonight.

  • Purchased direct from winery and properly stored. Popped and poured. Dark golden amber color reminiscent of an aged Sauternes. Nose of candied lemon peel, honeysuckle and apricot preserves.

Apricots, honeycomb, English toffee and hazelnut brittle on the palate. Luxurious mouth feel with a beautiful streak of acidity that keeps the wine fresh in spite of the viscosity. Layers upon layers of delicious flavors.

Super long finish with carmel and toffee notes, more apricot preserves, and citrus peel.

I think I've had every sweet wine made by MK and this is undoubtedly the finest example I've tasted. A perfect example of a sweet wine. Drink or hold.
