Decanted 1 hr and drank over the next 2 hrs which kept consistent. Improved since tasted 2 yrs ago. Excellent with a beef pie .. but on its own still somewhat disappointing for such a famous vintage.

Translucent ruby. Still young with lively boysenberry, some violets and spice on the nose. Medium to full bodied, full-textured red fruits on the midpalate, bright, slightly tart acid with good depth. Very good for the price.

Cherries and a eucalyptus note come forward on the nose. The palate has softened over the past two years but still shows some Hunter tar and Xmas cake. There are better entry level Hunter shiraz wines from this lauded vintage. Nevertheless, it is pleasant enough but I doubt if the rough edges will soften much with further bottle age. Probably from younger vines than the treasured older vines at Mount Pleasant.

Decanted 1.5 hours and drank over 2+ hrs. I think this might be in a bit of a trough now though this is my first bottle. Fruit needs to come up and tannins soften. Will try in 2yrs but I am disappointed given the vintage.
