If you love Napa cabs, you'll love the '13 Materium. It's big, opulent, fruity with plenty of tannins. If you're more of a Burgundy kind of person, you'll find this bottle to taste like candy, or, you might even find it offensive and wonder what some us are thinking. On the other hand, if you're anything like my middle brother, who lives in Norway and loves California wines, you might find yourself fantasizing about grabbing the bottle in front of your friends and running away to a hiding place where you can drink it all by yourself even if you know it would be social suicide. And even then, it might be a close call whether or not to go through with it. The '13 Materium is that good. I think you can make a lot of comparisons between Hundred Acre and Maybach. They share a lot of characteristics but I think the Hundred Acre wines generally just offer up a bit more structure and complexity.

Very good wine. A little more heat on the finish than I was expecting but otherwise consistent with others notes.

Rich dark chocolate flavors dominate here. A lush ripe hedonistic wine that is well made and still drinking very well.

Already ready to go, with velvety tannins, opulent and dense palate and a beautiful bouquet of dark berries and creme de cassis. Delicious
