Dark garnet core - sediment stuck to bottle; very little free with careful decanting. Still youthful - little signs of browning/aging. Clean nose of dark red and black fruit, little in the way of herbal or smoke/earthy notes - medium intensity. Dry but with tremendous fruit on the palate and a bit of an herbal edge indicative of the grape variety. Medium finish with the fruit continuing. Well made and well balanced - nothing out of place here but I would leave it another couple of years to see if it will develop some tertiary notes.

Love this wine! Better than the 2005, with lots of pretty floral notes, but still tons of red fruit. Rose petals, lilac, blackberry. Excellent and still drinking well. Could go another couple of years if you want to gamble, but definitely peaking now. Wish I had more.

Pop and pour from a 375. Faint spice and oak on the nose; medium in weight, modest spice, black cherry and a silky taste in a really well-balanced package that is drinking very well at present. This would be a top 10 contender for the best $12 I ever spent on a half-bottle of wine. At or approaching its peak, I'd drink any remaining bottles within 6 months to ensure optimal enjoyment, though this will last another 2+ years at least.

elegant and powerful with strong fruit, well integrated tannin, some meat overtones and nice acidity
