Must decant due to sediment and needs air. Opened beautifully over the 90 minute plus decant and in glass. Dark fruits, cassis and pencil shavings, with light baking spices on the finish. Medium tannins that could still age a little longer. 30 second plus finish

NYE Vino Fest (Atlanta, GA): Tasted at the annual 2023 New Years Eve Vino Fest in Atlanta. BYOB and guests were encouraged to bring wines with years ending with a 3. No formal notes, just scores. I brought this bottle to the event. I decanted it for an hour before putting it back in the bottle. Tons of sediment. This had just a wall of alcohol and tannin. I should have decanted this for several more hours or brought a different wine to the event. My score reflects this showing with lack of air but can tell this is a much better wine than my score. Blackberries, plum, mulberries, violets, red cherries, earth, a little new leather, and herbs on the nose. Blackberries, plums, earth, minerals, herbs, and a little tart cherry on the palate. Decent acidity, firm but accessible tannins, long finish. Very dense and full. So delicious. Does not show it's abv at all. Overall, this is an impressive, complex, and tasty wine. It's way too easy to drink.

Aromas of black cherries, violets, blackberries and crushed rocks. Wonderful flavors with great complexity- licorice, plums, black cherries and black currant. Needs a 3-hour decant. Great wine by winemaker Sam Kaplan.

Still needed air - 2+ hours to start opening. Will wait a couple of years before my next bottle.
