Pretty disappointing in that this did not seem like the same wine I tasted at the winery when it was re-released as a library purchase a few months ago. I really thought this wine would've held up better over the course of time. Just tasted flat and dead. Also could've been some slight bottle variation from what I tasted at the winery, so take this with a grain of salt as ymmv.
While this is good now, it is still tightly furled. This will be best after 2017, maybe after 2020. The nose has blackberry and sundried tomato with a hint of church incense. Silky mouthfeel with repressed black fruit, particularly black cherry. Tannins create an almost chalky dryness. Lingering sour cherry at the back of the palate.

Tried another bottle without decanting. Much better, but fell off quickly (about two hours). I'll be finishing the rest soon. Still enjoyable if you don't decant.

Opened and decanted about an hour. Barely any tannins left with a lot of alcohol and jam. I'll try another bottle without decanting.
