Hunter Valley 2016 Trip #1 (Hunter Valley, Australia): Meaty and earthy notes. Good structure and balance, with the fruit sweetness lending some brightness alongside the savoury Hunter Valley characters. A pleasant step up in interest.

Good quality Hunter shiraz drinking well, but will clearly improve over the next couple of years.

Right in the drinking window. Takes a little while to open up. Beautiful on the nose, zero tannin. Looking forward to comparing to the 2014.
