  Good timing for drink window. Red cherry with textured tannins. Slightly dry, really nice bottle with homemade red pasta sauce.

  You can almost taste Tuscany in this elegant wine. Violet with orange on the rims. Red fruit on the nose with a hint of what should I call it, conifer? Very tannic immediately after opening but tannins blend in soon afterwards. Medium to full bodied with plum, tobacco, pepper and cedar wood. Good acidity. A long finish. Drinking well now but should have some many years ahead of it. I don't know why but somehow I felt that I should have served this wine slightly (but just slightly) colder than usual to dampen the 14% a bit.
