Medium garnet colour. Pronounced and developed nose with raisin, fig, prune, roasted hazelnut and caramel. Pronounced taste of prune, fig, raisins, roasted hazelnut and caramel. Long and sweet finish. Medium acidity. Full body. A very good 10 year Tawny. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well with caramel or nut based desserts.

Perfect weather to pop a bottle in front of the fire. For a 10 year old tawny it pretty damm good. Caramel, strawberry, prunes and a bit of burnt honey. Still a bit of acidity that balances the sweetness and delivers a very nice mouthfeel. Not complex but for what it it, it’s very good.

I revisit this Port every time I fly through the Zurich airport as it is served in frequent-traveller lounges. I’m always excited for it because it’s by far the best wine offered.
On the nose, there are prunes and raisins followed by distinct caramel and toffee. There are more distant aromas of coffee and oak, maraschino cherries. On the palate, it’s very full bodied and a little too high in alcohol for me as the burn continues through the finish and lingers a little bit. The acidity is medium. There is more coffee now, some dates and stewed plums. Red fruit pie with brown sugar and explicit cloves. Despite the alcohol burn, the finish is mostly pleasant with the red fruit and coffee notes.

A rich tawny color with classic, deep aromas of roasted figs, golden raisins, sweet plums, and candied orange peels, along with coffee, toffee, and scents of almond cake and roasted pecans. The palate is sweet and plush with a rich texture and medium acidity. Delicious flavors of golden raisins, fig and currant compote, prunes, accented with toasted peanuts and candied pecans, with a salted caramel and honeyed finish. Undeniably delicious, and a great intro into the tawny style at a great price.
