Like with the Susan's Hill 2012, this too arrived in the last week. Done in twist, we turned the twist off about an hour ago, to go with seasoned ahi and some sauteed dark, leafy greens. I had some 2nd thoughts that this may not pair well but it did just fine. Like with the Susan's Hill, this is dark, on the riper side of CA syrah, but still showing the SLH profile. Some light grapefruit and pepper, cooked meat and a bucket of dark, blue fruit. As this sits, it gets me to thinking like I have a Rosella's in my glass, a similar expression. Don't find any new oak here, just ready to go and like the Susan's, quite approachable. This is rock solid, richer in tone and like the Susan's, a great value and terrific for the style.
