Double decanted & tried after 6 hours. Plenty of weight left in this wine. Overall leans savoury (oak) with some Anise spice. Rounded out by some stewed fruit, think prunes. We enjoyed with a a chicken, orzo bake

Popped and poured. A bit closed at first, then opened to anise on the nose, and an extended if subdued finish. Fruit seems to have subsided, but the balanced acidity has maintained overall freshness. I think fine to drink now. It may have time left, but does not feel like anything additional going to show with more time.

I really like Ogier and Gangloff style wines from Cote Rotie, especially as they age. My first bottle of this corked so it had a low bar. But this drank beautifully. I love how the white pepper integrates and the silky finish ripples. Fruit is somewhat muted but but still notable for a wine at 10. There’s a danger of taking the next sip too soon. A gem from Denner.
