And that 93 points is given against what the best from Europe can give. For its price, quite remarkable = beautifully lifted nose of dark fruit, smoke and undergrowth, perfumed and very intriguing. The palate took a little longer to get going; it was reasonably full but had just a touch of maderisation. That went after two hours, to reveal a wine of texture and depth, where the smokiness is fully integrated into the structure of the wine.
This is a very fine effort from Thorn-Clarke, and really you should be up there with the greats, but advertising and the promotion of name-brands will make this difficult. Don't give up. You are making wine that costs me $400 dollars a bottle to get from the UK.
Cheers,

Decanted for 8 hours. A medium/full-bodied wine. Plum & blackberry on the nose with a hint of chocolate. This was a lovely wine. Quite savoury with nicely balanced tannin's riding on a wave of oak & sandalwood. I still have two. I have heard it could go down another 9 years but i felt it was almost at it's peak so i'll open another one later this year or next year & see how it's changed.

Drank over two nights. Would definitely buy and drink again, especially at this price.
