Nice Barossa Valley Shiraz, which was better 3-5 years ago. Leather, earthiness, some sweet cherries still peaking through and some wood notes, coffee and chocolate. Long finish. Time to drink up

Drank alongside Old Vine 03 and Old Vine 04. Like the Old Vine, this never really appeared to open up, teasing along the way with false starts. A classic Western Barossa, bramble predominate, with cassis black fruits and undertones of red fruit. More perfumed and brambly then the Old Vine, but not by much. Shame it never quite shone tonight but thoroughly enjoyed nevertheless. Still holding strong, will keep for a few years yet easy enough.

Drank this at a wine dinner at Chao Shan Cuisine last night with a group of wine drinkers. Theme of the evening: Australia Shiraz.
A 'biggie' which is not over the top. Purple in colour with sweet notes of plums on the nose and palate. A very complete and rounded wine. Full bodied with lots of black fruits; plums, cherries, spices and a touch of vanilla. Elegance with a long finish.

Nose remains fragrant though beginning to show port-like notes. Flavor is fading, this strikes me as 12-18 months passed prime.

A bit disjointed. Dark and fragrant, but thinning out.
