A beautiful expression of cooler climate, more Burgundian Chardonnay without the influence of oak. It's pure, with delicate floral notes and flavors of green and golden apple and pear along with hints of tangerine and peach with a streak of lemon peel. Bright acidity and a lovely viscosity that lies between a rich Chardonnay and a racy, stainless steel wine. It finishes and lingers on apple and pear skin. This wine can age and from experience, these do well. If you like Burgundy, this is a great CA option.

This is got to be the worst white wine I have had in a long time. I paid $20 for it, and I must say that it drinks like a $10 Chardonnay. In fact, I would prefer Kendall Jackson or Mondavi over this one. At least those two wines have a somewhat richer taste. This one is very light in almost every aspect -- color, viscosity, and taste. It has acid but very little fruit juice and almost no oak. I think it tastes more like water with a little bit of lime juice -- not my kind of Chardonnay. The 2013 Buehler ($13) that I had last week was also not great, but better than this one.

(Alta Maria Chardonnay) Light yellow color; appealing, tart lemon, very tart green apple nose; very tart lemon, citrus, mineral palate with medium-plus acidity, a little thin mid-palate; medium finish (13.5% alcohol)

Nice fruit and acidity with a just the right amount of oak to balance the elements.
