Oof. Clearly waited too long. Oxidized. Sauternes? Let it sit open for quite a while. It mellowed a bit, but still too much for me. Toffee. But acrid at the finish. Truly bitter. I dunno. Maybe this is what it is supposed to develop into after 13 years, but I doubt it. Bummed I apparently missed the peak.

MAGNUM reviewed: I had the 750 bottle of this vintage earlier this year and this magnum is definitely even better. We had family over and many thought it was just another really good, current vintage chard with a nice soft and mineral-creamy texture. The oak on the 750 bottle is gone and integrated, very nice ripe honey and soft flinty flavors and mid-to-long finish that was remarkably balanced. Nothing old or aged but don't hold on any more regardless of bottle format, though cellaring it well, up until 2025 would not hurt it, but it won't be better (my guess)

This vintage has reached its peak and is in decline although still interesting and pleasant. Stony Hill has always been Burgundian in style and still shows its character. The wine was I tense over-powering the fruit.

As others have mentioned, this seemed a bit past it's prime at this point, but still delicious. Just a little short on the finish and a little less vibrant than the bottle I had in 2020.
