Amazingly, this wine is still showing no signs of aging around the edges of its deep purple hue. A bit of funk that blew off quickly to show moderate aromas of cigar box and dark fruit. Tasted several times as it opened up before dinner. Very dark fruit and smoke, with undertones of brine and a slight hint of menthol. Very well integrated now, and so much smoother than my first bottle several years ago. This is my final bottle of 6 and the best experience of the bunch.

Had not tried a bottle of this wine in 5 years. It is still a beautiful bottle of wine. I pulled the cork and let it sit for an hour then replaced the cork went to a local byob to meet some friends then pulled the cork again and let it sit for some time while we drank some pouilly fuisse and some pinot noir. I believe that this wine should be decanted and let sit for a few hours as each glass got progressively better. There was dark fruit on the nose, the palate was dark berries, plums, hints of wood and mocha. The finish was moderate to long. The wine started out as a 90+ and ended up a 92+. I have one bottle left somewhere in my totally disorganized cellar and when I do find it I will give it a decent decant prior to drinking.

Extra aging is just what this fine Malbec needed!

Really tart and briny on the palate. Not much depth or complexity. Maybe it just needed more time? Am going to retry 2nd day...
