I've been pretty spoiled lately so take the following review with a grain of salt, but this wine didn't really do it for me. Torn btwn this and the Riesling and I should have gone with my first inclination. It's very astringent. Tart on the initial taste, but that tartness does not give way to other flavors - just stays that way. Maybe, if I push myself, I can get a bit of an earthiness to it (but really it's more like straight dirt). It's a shame, but perhaps for someone with a different taste.

Medium-minus opacity, slightly orange cherry, no sediment; nose: a bit barnyardy, wheat cracker, red fruits, slight alcohol heat; medium acidity, medium tannin, medium-minus body; offensive vanilla oakiness, astringent cherry and red fruits, slightly bitter; sadly a long, rough finish.
An interesting nose that does not at all carry through a really unpleasant mouth. The mouth falls apart here substantially. Drink now, or throw away.

Perhaps Vino Volo left this over night, oak is forward and then some pungent darker fruit, like processed chocolate covered cherries. Not age worthy.

Willamette Valley Wines presents: Pinot in the City (City Winery, Chicago, IL): Nose: There is a very herbal and somewhat green quality on the nose along with tones of rhubarb, herbs, red fruits, and some floral tones.
Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity and some nice tannins. The palate leans green with some stemmy tones, herbs, red fruits, and rhubarb tones.
Overall: This is on the greener side. It is on the delicate side, but is just a bit too herbal.
