  • PnP, this thin bodied, light ruby to orange wine yields a potent nose of brusk rhubarb, charred cherry, pomegranate, oak and toast. Powerful attack, deep grained layers of dark fruits. Showing much heavier than the body would indicate. Evolved caramelized notes coming through a tad, with some steeped liquers. Very nice indeed. On day two + under vac-u-vin this hasn't gained depth or body, but is holding well. Very nice, not overly heavy or extracted, yet full flavored.

  • From a magnum: richer and darker than expected from a RRV vineyard. Decanted and it opened up well, dark fruit and a real earthy, forest character. Seems like it was harvested pretty ripe with less acid.

  • Decanted 2 hours which did wonders. Very expressive nose of earthy cherries, spice, and touch of oak. Rich, somewhat complex flavors driven by cherries, but with red berries, asian spices, and fennel, giving a rich texture cut by slight acidity and soft tannins. Maybe a hint if mineral. Medium length. I believe the decant's awakening of the fruit hid the sense of heat I noted last time. Strong flavor profile and structure made a good pairing with grilled chicken and eggplant parmesan.

  • PnP. Tight at first but opened during the evening (decant would help). Musty cherries, earth and some spice; not very expressive. Creamy medium intensity fruit on entry meeting acidity at peak. Low flavor profile, especially on descent and finish. Touch of heat. Low complexity, lacks tension/mineral.

  • 14.9% alcohol. Pretty black cherry profile to this wine, with a lot of flesh on the palate. Ripe and tasty, with good acidity. A touch of heat on the finish. B+/A-
