A private lunch (Restaurant Schloss Berg ***, Perl/Nennig, Germany): AP 7. Tasted blind. I got pretty close, I suggested 20-25 year old Auslese, negligeable botrytis, Mittelmosel or Saar. Buttercup yellow colour, indicating age but without much botrytis; intense nose, vibrant acidity, waxy bottle age, mint, peach; elegant palate with firm acidity, intense but only delicately sweet, aromatic green herbs; relatively dry finish, good length.

From half bottle: to pair some sweet dishes this bottle is perfect, energetic fruit cocktail, apricot, peach, mango, a little honeyed, well balanced dancing on the midpalate with only 8% alcohol, very good fruit acid tension, long+,

Bright gold with a touch of green. Full botrytis nose also showing baked apple and petrol. Full flavored with a lively texture. Good zing on the finish. Well done. (94)

Med. light golden. Moderately fruity nose with some petrol, pleasant, if not very expressive. Quite rich palate, very fruity yet very fresh and very mineral. Apple and citrus tones, very long, very balanced. Mineral aftertaste. Light and excellent.

pale apple green. bright bracing acidity with quince, macintosh apple and creme brule' not a full-bodied auslese, but refreshing and honest.
