  • The ‘Verus’ winery, a newcomer to the Slovenian wine scene (founded in 2007, 10 hectares), produces beautiful white wines, grown on the slopes of the Jeruzalem-Ormož hills (north-eastern part of Slovenia, bordering Hungary and Croatia). Interesting Furmint wine (the classic white grape variety of Hungary’s Tokaji wine) with a beautiful greenish golden color and attractive scents of yellow apple, stone fruit, orange blossom and some grassy notes. Good fruit concentration on the palate with an opulent mouth feel and a lively but ripe acidity. Serious aftertaste with a slight touch of oak. A perfect aperitif wine. This wine is at its peak now.

  • Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2013-04; Slovenia (By HV): Apples, limestone and the impression of some oak in the bouquet. On the palate apple and tart lime as well as some limestone minerals. Ok acidity here, but a short finish.
