No notes taken. My first time with this wine. This has well-integrated and is in a great first drinking window. Expressive and intense from start to finish with lots of ripe but not too ripe fruit, with a touch too strong spicy core, alongside some minerality. In typical 2010 fashion this is quite structured and with a good freshness. A great wine. 93/94pts.
Decanting: Not decanted, no extensive decanting necessary.

Decanted for 5+ hours before the first sip. Classic, bodacious, full-bodied, Cali Cab (if you don’t know, you don’t know…but I wish you every opportunity 🙏) with Thai grilled chicken 🐔, spicy 🌶 morning glory and pad thai 🍜. Magical 🧙♂️

Needs 90 minutes to open after pulling cork. No decant.
Gorgeous complex nose. Spiced oak and vanilla clove aromas over fruit.
Oak is powerfully present.
Signature Oakville berry flavor with tons of spice from the wood with lots of grip present. Started elegant but then got a touch more masculine with air.
60 second finish.
Spectacular wine that is not showing any major signs of weakness. Mature and at the tippy top of the hill if you ask me.

2 hour slow ox, enjoyed over 4 hours. Showing very well, medium to full bodied, dark fruits, toast, dark chocolate. Bought on release. Wish I had another.

Drinking very well with a 3 hour decant. K. especially liked it “Soft. Round. Fruity. But what do bing cherries taste like?”
