Slight madeirized notes at open. Never totally blew off but not disqualifying. Dense and rough. Like a muscle car that was hard but fun to drive, with little finesse and a sticky gear box. Still nice slick fruit with a sweet core. Side bones of leather and fougere. Certainly respectable and enjoyable.

Another stunning performance, rich with a nice sweetness. Drank next to a 2003 Abreu and you wouldn't guess the age difference. This had so much of what makes mature cali cab so great: sweet eucalyptus, plums, figs, still a hint of over ripe cherries.

Tasted blind next to some Bordeaux from the 80's. Surprisingly it was the freshest of the pack. Still showing some black berries, well balanced with a strong finish. A hint of eucalyptus could have made me guess that this was a new world wine... Amazing!

Amazing nose of red unmistakably California cab fruit and mossy earth. Sweet fruit on palate- still so tannic for a wine this age - this bottle performed well. With time, a hint of soy sauce develops on the nose.
