Sehr langer, floraler Abgang. Auf dem Peak, trinken bis 2030. 93 vvPunkte

March Madness Wine Tasting: Served blind. This is tasting much older than it is. Definitely Nebbiolo from a good producer. Great nose that opens the sinuses. Road tar and a touch of prune.

Pongy and austere. Great depth and multi layered. Huge structure high acidity. In many way similar to a grand cru Burgundy. Real depth and length of tar and fruits of the forest. Long complex.

Perfectly mature but could easily use a few more years in bottle. Dark and deep red almost mahogany in color. Beautiful tertiary aromatics of cedar, tobacco, tar, iron and sage combine beautifully with the mature red fruits. Tannins are fully resolved with no hard edges. Just a beautiful and complex wine from start to finish.

Decanted one hour before service - I thought that wasn't going to be even close to enough time, but it turned out well. In the glass, light-medium auburn at the rim, shading to opaque dark burnt orange at the core. On the nose, a blast of cherries from the decanter and the glass, with secondary notes of tar and clove. On the palate, the tannins are almost completely resolved, leaving a silky smooth wine with ample cherries, tar, rose, and a touch of cinnamon, with a moderately long finish and a touch of spice at the end that draws you right back to the glass. A seductive wine for sure.
