An auction bottle bought for Kathy to enjoy with duck pate, nose of yeast, chalk, lemon, apple, and citrus, medium/big body, tasty, lovely, rich, mouth filling fruit, sharp, flavorful finish, medium/long finish with good acid, and pleasant aftertaste.

Sometime, breaking the rule can result in a wonderful outcome and this bottle is the manifestation of this! The score given and this review are only specific to this bottle.
Bought back in 2011 so I suspect the base is either an 09 or 10. Has lost some of the fizz due to passage of time but it has gained great depth of complexity. Yellow and very fine bead, the nose is slightly reductive but has the purity of fruit that can only come from an aged chardonnay - oyster shell, honey, lemon zest and white nectarines. Body has great tension and salinity that you would fine a great chablis (C. Moreau or Dauvissat come to mind). Lovely finish. What a find.
Drink now to 3+ years.

One of my all-time multi-vintage Blanc de Blancs Champagnes. SO well-balanced on the palate with dry rock, light fruit, and a wonderful finish. Highly recommended!
