First Wednesday Wine Club (Napoli in Bocca, Haberfield): Served blind. Reductive, black pepper, blackberry, plums, sweet spice. Thickly extracted. Medium plus intensity acidity, talc textured tannins black fruits, touch of residual sugar. Meh. I went with Australian, Barossa, 2006. As part of the tasting someone made the observation that, as the acidity didn't feel adjusted and was prominent, this was more likely McLaren Vale...I shall have to explore this

Glad that it waited for me. I thought this was a nice wine. It took an hour to open if not longer.

Blackcurrant, prune, truffle, cut hay, gunpowder. Lots of fruit, nice acidity and balance. Aroma and palate with beforementioned. Will try again.

Some reduction evident that blew off after an hour. Less complex than Dead Arm, but well extracted and good secondary flavors.

Drank this during the 7th day of Chinese New Year Dinner.
One of the 3 wines that were made into the signature wine, Dead Arm.
Colour is dark purple. Nose has fresh berries and rich violets and fruit cakes. On the palate the wine is rich, full bodied and blackcurrants.
A long and rounded finish makes this an impressive wine to pair with food.
