Surprisingly good. I think the last Martinelli chardonnay that I had tasted vaguely malty. This was lively and dancing with peaches and apricots and even some pear and smooth apple (Honeygold) and faint pale flowers. This was unexpected and delicious. 90pts.

golden yellow, aromas of pear and alcohol. on the palate, extremely viscous, which is distracting. pear, creme brulee, apricot, butter and oak. the fruit seems less vibrant than in previous bottles - i wonder if this means one shouldn't expect it to age much longer. if you like extremely viscous, full throttle cali chard's, this is for you.

Not a food wine, but a wonderfully complex, rich and flavorful chardonnay that's not showing its age at all. Like most Martinelli's the alcohol is high, but that didn't detract from our pleasure in this case.

CRISP CITRUS FRUIT AND MELONS IN THE NOSE AND FLAVOR. NICE COMPLEXITY AND ACIDITY WITH A LONG FINISH.
