Big and custardy. Individual fruit notes seemed to be locked into the richness. I’ve read from several sources that marsanne/ rousanne-based wines enter a dumb phase about four years from harvest and emerge with renewed vitality ten years thereafter. Even this producer’s website seems to hint at that. Unfortunately, I’ve never had a 15-year old white Rhône wine, so I can’t say.

Light yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of peach, lemon and Granny Smith apples. Flavors of kumquat, apricot and minerals. Medium acidity, medium body. Drink or hold.
