This cab/merlot blend was phenomenal. I let it open up for an hour before diving in. Nose of earthen leather and pencil lead. Tannins totally smoothed out at this point. Dark tobacco and cherry-chocolate flavors on the palate. Perfect combination with rack of lamb. Would guess it has 4-5 years left if anyone has bottles still in their cellar (I don't)

Amazing for a 14 yr. old wine (albeit well stored) w/no edge bricking, deep crimson/purple color and an expressive nose of berries and forest floor after a rain. Lush mid palate, good balance of fruit, refined tannins and well integrated oak, segueing into a fine and expressive finish. One person complained about the alcohol level 14.4%. Great on its own and went well with a rich beef stew.

This has aged just beautifully. Initially shy nose, bit blossomed with time in the decanter. Aromas and flavors of dark cherry, slight peat, and rich tobacco. The fruit was really still quite vibrant, and the last glass was the best. Really fine mouthfeel and a long, perfectly balanced finish.

Hard to think this wine is 14 years old! It is superb. After decanting for an hour it opened up with full force. Drink now-2021
