  • Butter colored, medium bodied, complex and intriguing, this wine from this uncommon varietal is an interesting cross between the body of a full complex Chardonnay and the crispness of a Sauvignon Blanc - full essence of pear predominates with subtle melon and tropical fruits on a firm mineral finish.

  • Not betraying a hint of its age. Wonderful, complex and interesting.

  • Received this as part of a club shipment in late 2012. A bit disappointed as most of the reviews suggested that it was well past its prime. Indeed, I found the bright fruitiness that one might expect to be long gone. A bit sour and stale. It might have been good in its prime, but by early 2013, at best it could make a middling cooking wine.

  • Wow, what a nice white. This was the 1st of 4 wines enjoyed tonight. This wine was enjoyed as a pop and pour (or an unscrew and pour). Our mission was to make the two people who don't like white wine to actually LIKE a white wine. Mission accomplished. This wine was straight up creme brulee, mineral, pear, and a hint of pineapple around a TON of spice on the finish. I was extremely surprised by the amount of spice on the finish here. Almost like a green pepper or almost a jalapeno finish. NICE. There was no oak barrel finish - no obnoxious butter or burned butter. I felt that this one could have competed with a lot of chardonnays that I have had in the past, but it just didn't have that level of complexity. The wine was surely balanced. I will see if I can acquire a case o 2010, but this 2008 is still going strong. This wine was enjoyed with goat cheese stuffed peppers and some pico salsa. Beautiful wine. I wish I had another half case of this!!

  • Straw with hints of moss green. Nice, viscous appearance.

Salty seawater, complex flinty minerality, a number of floral aromas (not unlike potpourri), cashew, mineral oil, a little pineapple, novel white stone fruit, asian pear, and buttery, custard-like notes. The nose is not unlike some higher end California Chardonnays.

Nice citrusy undertones, more custard, salty seaweed, a little pineapple, and something exotic I can't put my finger on (someone else suggested goji berry, but I've never tasted it before). Slightly sweet with an initial pineapple and lemon flavor that is enhanced by beautiful acidity and a massive presence on the mid-palate. Incredibly creamy and full-bodied, nutty and creamy flavors dominate, like cashew butter, butter, and a hint of mineral oil, which flow into the finish and meet back up with a little pineapple.

The alcohol is pretty well integrated despite being 15.5% ABV, though there is a little burn on the tongue. Overall, a much better experience than the last Mollydooker that I had. I would certainly buy this again.
