The nose showed fig sauce, raspberry jam and sage. On the palate, I found juicy, sweet currant with allspice and black cherry leading into its long fresh finish. This was very drinkable and fun for a wine with 28 years on it.

Interesting comparison horizontal tasting of three 27 years. It was the 27 years age that was the reason the fruit was diminished to minimal. Earthy leather and flabby tannins prevailed with a slight bit of black cherry lingering on the flat tannic finish. The color was still holding albeit showing age. This tasted remarkably much like another '82, Chateau Citran - http://cellartracker.com/w?129293 in comparison tasting although this held more fruit and color. Interesting, it was the Sonoma Valley Fisher '82 Sonoma held on for the best color and fruit.

Solid bottle bouquet of cedar. No more tannins, drink now.
