Just into 93 point territory.... this wine is clearly just at peak, needing a 1-1.5 hour decant before reaching its peak performance. Phenomenal supertuscan blend, clearly a blend of Italian sangiovese and merlot, with a touch of cabernet... my only qualm is that the finish is just a bit thin and moderate in length. If you have bottles of this, drink now +6-12 months. Will not improve, is in a phenomenal place now after an hour or so of air. Phenomenal value at the $30 I paid for it 10 years ago.

Fatto per piacere, e ci riesce senza sforzo, ovvero senza risultare piacione. Naso intenso, di frutti scuri, tostato - caffè, cacao - ma per niente sopra le righe, preciso e con la giusta maturità. Sottofondo di spezie e cuoio. Meno opulento di altre annate, e questo gli conferisce grazia e forse maggior equilibrio. Palato con tannini compatti e perfettamente armonizzati nella struttura, importante ma non strabordante. Ottima versione del vino di punta di Brancaia

Short decant. Wine was well integrates and really nice match with beef stew. No detailed notes but this seems to be the right time to drink this.
