Oh, My! This is really pleasant. Beautiful nose. Moderate color. Relatively deep, earthy, cherry, berry palate.Good acidity. The nose bumps the score a touch. Nice finish. Close to being exceptional. Wish I had more!

I've had a couple of SCM Pinot recently and this is right up there qualitatively, closer to Rhys than Alesia. Savory yet balanced, if restrained and limited in range at the moment, 2-5 years from its best. These cherry scented earth-berries are appealing but not mind blowing.

Tasting room visit - pine forest, fig, sandstone, sandalwood, allspice berries. Rich and complex with a core of rocky stone and fig fruit and spice depth. Complimentary acid and fine medium tannins. Complexity and good depth throughout.

Another impressive PN from the Santa Cruz Mountains. I’m beginning to believe that this is, in fact, the best area for Pinot in all of California. Yes, even better than the Sonoma Coast. This wasn’t as interesting or nuanced as McHenry but it’s still distinctive in very positive ways. Good amount of wild strawberries and some darker forest fruits with some pie spice, forest floor and finishes with that characteristic acid that I absolutely love.

Cherry, raspberry, caramel, spruce, and allspice flavors commingle on the palate, creating a warming, crowd-pleasing PN. Medium acid keeps it fresh.
