This was double decanted about 5 hours prior to consumption, and while it showed well, it was ultimately bested by the ‘99 Moccagatta that we had along side of it. This clearly drank more mature - at 25 years of age, bottle variation is always a concern, and this had a balsamic note that seemed to resonate maturity. So not a bad wine by any means, but today just not up to competing with it’s sibling from Moccagatta.

Double decanted about 5 hours before we drank it, and this was really in the zone today. I would say at 25 years of age pretty much at peak - I can’t recall having a bottle that showed better before.
Just had a glass of the '20 Pomona CC, and at first blush that wine feels more substantive on the palate. This is lighter-bodied and the acidity is more pronounced, but the palate is slightly clenched here, for lack of a better descriptor.
