The think the most interesting vineyard areas to visit are around the Grand Crus of Vosne-Romanee, where you see the historic markers of the great names and places. You also see the respective exposure of the Grand Cru and nearby 1er Cru vineyards. Similarly, I also enjoy doing the same around Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet and Batard-Montrachet. If you are there in June, you almost certain to see horses working in the vineyards, which gives that great old-timey aspect tying the wines to their historical past.
