Not nearly as good as the 2005 or more recent top vintages but still enjoyable. Dark Ruby red color, decanted and aerated for an hour. Nose of cassis, some cedar, leather, smoke, herbaceous. On the palate a little thin, lacking in power and complexity yet drinking decently well. Finishes with decent length but nothing to write home about.

Orange gold color. Very evolved on the nose with saffron, apricots, honeysuckle, tropical fruits. Fat and dense on the palate yet not overbearing, in a really good spot now with great balance, power and acidity, aged but still fresh, not to sweet and very well balanced and finishes rich and long. A true beauty.

Superb wine although still very young and needs a few more years for the tannins t9 soften. Decanted for 2 hours then drank over another 2 hours. Very dark blackish color, dense almost satin like. Nose wafting with lots of blackberries, currants, graphite, nutmeg, star anise, and some licorice. On the palate full bodied, brimming with vivaciousness, fat entry, expands mid palate with an explosion of perfumed black fruits, lilacs, lots of lift and acidity in a great way, finishes very long with powerful tannins cloaked only through the power of the fruit. Truly amazing.

8/31/2013 12:42:00 PM - Greetings, The Player. I think your tasting note on the 2002 Giuseppe Quintarelli Rosso del Bepi Veneto IG is perfect - and we must have had virtually the exact same bottle of wine.
Cheers,
Doug
