1/12/2014 2:09:00 PM - It looks as if we have a lot of wines in common!

1/12/2014 2:03:00 PM - mdvino63- Thanks for the inquiry re the 1989 P. Jaboulet La Chapelle. To tell you the truth, after removing the wine from the cellar, I stood it upright for 30 minutes, then pop and poured it in a Les Impitoyables # 1 red glass. This glass helps aerate the wine. The #1 is more generally used for newer wines. But, I regularly use it for wine tasting and evaluation. Personally, I'd decant the wine next time, given my thoughts on the 1/10/14 tasting. A couple decants probably would not hurt either. As I mentioned, the wine is just beginning to reach its drinking plateau. I hadn't tasted the wine since Nov 1991, so I did not know what to expect when popping the cork. If the wine has been well stored, it should be most enjoyable. So, enjoy! Yours, Chainthroer aka Bill
