8/7/2020 9:27:00 PM - Yes...and we're not as locked down as you so tasting and dinners with drunkards I mean, ahh, friends. But also, cellar plunderage - like a fat kid in a sweet shop...

  • chatters says:

4/17/2018 4:57:00 PM - We did bad things. I feel dirty. And corrupt. Marvellous.

  • chatters says:

9/28/2017 3:25:00 AM - email address - dwchatfield@gmail.com - big crawl could be lambs conduit to blandford street to lexington street to endell street all on foot then train down to deptford then DLR/overground to BH or taxi home...

9/25/2017 12:39:00 AM - Chatters - sounds perfect. I'll do some recciies for decent lunchtime boozy lunches. Ping me your email address and I'll send some suggestions.

  • chatters says:

9/24/2017 5:32:00 PM - Perfect. Start at lunch-ish time once you're back and all unpacked - pick a time and a bar and I'll see you there! Cheers, chatters

  • chatters says:

9/23/2017 1:59:00 AM - Alas, by stay in London will be considerably curtailed this time so I can only catch up on Monday 23rd or Tuesday 24th October! Either of dates work for you and your liver? cheers, chatters

9/13/2017 1:26:00 AM - There are some great bottles being gargled in Tokyo during 2018 SAKURA. '66 Latour and '66 Fonseca. End of March, early April 2018 Sakura is blooming in Tokyo. Insanely beautiful. Just like our wives. Opposite us.

  • JGerbasIII says:

7/27/2017 11:45:00 AM - Cheers! I'm going to keep an eye out for it here. I will definitely look you up next time I'm in London. If your ever near the Mosel...you do the same.

  • chatters says:

4/5/2017 1:44:00 AM - Plenty can go wrong but...if we drink enough...it won't matter because we won't remember!!!

  • chatters says:

9/26/2016 1:15:00 AM - Good morning, sorry not been in touch for a while - lots of running around - still fancy a drink somewhere around Blackheath or in the city? I'm away tomorrow night and then off again Saturday but all other nights are good. My UK number is 07921 506 536, cheers, chatters

  • chatters says:

8/25/2016 3:19:00 AM - I'm airbnb-ing 22-27th Sept at a place just up that side road by the Railway pub near the station...And that is handy about the local wine bar - have you tried it out? Odd that they don't disclose producer or vintage on their wine list...

  • chatters says:

8/24/2016 8:53:00 PM - ha ha, that is hilarious...

  • chatters says:

8/23/2016 4:14:00 PM - Lovely, I used to work on John Carpenter Street. I'll be based out of Blackheath when I'm in London but also darting around the country a bit as well. Terroirs looks superb but I also really like New Street Wine Bar for a cheeky line up on a Monday night of 50ml pour pleasures...and they have a Coravin for a real treat. How about the latter on Monday 26th September?

  • chatters says:

8/23/2016 3:58:00 AM - that sounds great...nah, I'm easy - obviously I don't really need to drink anything from Australia or New Zealand. I'm probably going to get to Planet of the Grapes at least once as that was just opening last time I was in the UK but other than that I'm more than happy to be enlightened. cheers, chatters

  • chatters says:

8/23/2016 2:02:00 AM - Hi pjaines, I'm going to be in the UK from the 12th September to 3rd October and am desperately hunting tastings...I wonder if you have any suggestions? I've tried BBR but their cupboard is fairly bare...any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated! Equally happy to catch up for a drink if your schedule allows, cheers, chatters

  • StefanAkiko says:

7/9/2015 11:39:00 PM - I got a runny nose bleed after the bubbly tasting that lasted for almost 2 months. Insane! Too acidic for me. One glass can be ok... But give me REDS and give med STICKIES!!!

  • StefanAkiko says:

7/9/2015 11:17:00 PM - Finally got myself to write down the Epic Bubbly tasting we had in January. Wish you'd been there!

  • StefanAkiko says:

6/11/2015 8:09:00 AM - Have been in bed for a ~week now. Caught something terribly nasty, it seems. I went from completely strong to 42.2C (104.4F) in just a few hours. Geee... Long since I was last this sick. Will try to sip some wine on Saturday.

  • stubbie999 says:

5/17/2015 6:47:00 AM - Agree on the Metras wines. They're delicious, but hard to find, allocated and therefore expensive in the States. I wish there were more to go around, or that they weren't pushing $50.

  • stubbie999 says:

5/16/2015 8:26:00 PM - Just a quick note to let you know I dig your notes. Nicely done, and get to the point in a way I totally understand. Bravo.

  • StefanAkiko says:

3/2/2015 12:13:00 PM - Those great 1982 St Julien wines and the great Rhône ones... Aaah! Unfortunately, I've run out of Guigal LaLaLa Côte-Rôtie :-(

  • StefanAkiko says:

10/4/2013 1:12:00 PM - Re your Q ab the hideous amount of Beaujolais in my cellar I can only say that as I'm trying to be open-minded, I am. Trying. There have been some quite good "Bojos" AND at an acceptable price point. (There have been som great Burgundy also in my life, but as you can guess, not anywhere near a remotely acceptable price point.)

  • StefanAkiko says:

9/18/2013 1:42:00 PM - We have no rush at all w Lagrange 05. Actually, we had one last year and a Murrican complained that our note as the wine being a cosed specimen was faulty. We've scheduled the next 2005 with our final btl of Ex-Chateau 1995 to be had in ~18. As you so aptly say: what's the rush?

  • StefanAkiko says:

9/18/2013 1:03:00 PM - We also have a couple of '05 Lagrange. When r u considering making yours drunk?

  • Harley1199 says:

4/5/2013 7:16:00 AM - Appreciated, despite have some doubts about a modern concept as Valandraud. Gonna change my mind then for this weekend and let it lay down for a couple of years minimum, mainly cause I also prefer my bottles quite mature. Keep my torch ready too...

9/25/2012 9:54:00 AM - great tasting notes that i have been searching in the CT, so nice to share your notes with-out any score-rating, this put me into a simply sharing of the enjoyment more than chasing the number of score & price that searching online, thank you of all for the wine !!
