  • 2014 Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne

Badly POXed. We had a previous bottle from the same case in January 2022 which was sound and I can not imagine that this deterioration has happened since that time. The inconsistency with various Latour bottles has reached a point where I no longer have a desire to purchase their wines.

  • 2012 Delamotte Champagne Blanc de Blancs Millésimé

Golden color, surprisingly rich and creamy with ample mousse and exotic fruit and baked goods. Smooth and mouth filling with a fair amount of ripe yellow fruit which comes across with a surprising hint of sweetness. Much more so than previous great vintages such as the 02 and 08 at this age. This last point makes me wonder if a little less dossage would have made this a little more precise. That said it was well liked and at a good place right now. Perfectly stored bottle since release and If this was typical, then (unless this was a slightly advanced bottle, as bottle to bottle variations are not uncommon) I would say- drink now, and in the next few years rather then trying to age it longer -the jury is out, need to try again.

  • 1999 Domaine Coteau Pinot Noir

A nice surprise this was quite elegant and tasty reminded me of a 12-15 year old red Burgundy in it's texture and could have fooled many in a blind tasting. The winery disappeared out of the scene in around 2010 and I am not sure what happened -did they get purchased or morphed into another winery?
